I have to say, many of you aren't wrong for disliking Americans. Quite a large portion of the United States is ignorant, easily manipulated, fat, lazy, uneducated idiots. And politically speaking, ours is a nation of corruption and neoconservative narcissism.
That being said, you're wasting your time discussing all of this shit on a message bored for a page titled LSD vs Alcohol vs Tree.
I'm pretty annoyed at Canadians, Europeans, and everyone really, who think they understand America better than everyone else. I don't give a damn about your opinions. I apologize for letting George Bush get elected. What more can a citizen do? It's out of my hands. Propaganda is making fools of my nation, but you blame us for it. And it isn't like Europe has a clean slate. Most of you Europeans have a history as stained in blood as America. And your democracies were formed in response to the success of ours. That's the gospel truth. Despite our blatant corruption, despite our wrongdoings, America still has more potential to be a force for good than any of you combined. Too bad the potential is wasted.
No country is perfect. I think the notion that, had your country the power the USA has you might act any differently is ridiculous. You all know that it is in the nature of the superpower to abuse its power. The only difference is nowadays the USA doesn't have the Cold War as an excuse, so everyone just gets pissed a lot easier. As well they should. What we're doing in Iraq is wrong, and not any of our business. Personally, I don't give two shits if Saddam gases his people into oblivion, we still shouldn't have invaded because it isn't our right and we had no real reason anyway. It was just oil, nothing else. And there we still are, wasting our time and trillions of dollars on a futile war.
The USA should keep its nose out of other countries' business. It should start paving the way for increasingly Socialist policies. Public education should be revamped, public transportation should be expanded, social health care should be granted at least to the poorest people, and the federal government should be weakened considerably. The USA needs to mind its own problems. As the bible says, "One should not pull the splinter out of his neighbor's eye without removing the timber from his own." We're not ready to help the world. We're growing weaker and we need to embrace that. Our currency is failing, while India, the EU, and China are all growing more powerful. Americans need to realize we're not going to be number one forever, and we should start preparing for the fall. Sure, we'll have the best military, higher education institutions, researchers, and technology for another few decades, easily, but that too will change.
But look at it objectively for a second. America invented the modern world. Almost any appliance in common use today was made by American scientists. Cars, TVs, telephones, light bulbs, etc... Electricity was even discovered by one of our founding fathers. Also, we made all the best weapons. Nuclear bombs, anyone? Isn't it a little easy to see why some people get a little bit overzealous and patriotic about America? We're a great country! We're not perfect, like any other empire we've made mistakes, but we've done a lot of good too. Our biggest sin these days are the oustpoken loudmouths who give us a bad name, and our president (who really ought to resign).
I won't try to convince you that America is the greatest country in the history of the world, because I don't believe in the idea of partiotism, or national superiority. I believe in a united world, not the United States. We're just one faction, and we need to realize that we need to be friends with the world, not imposing bastards who seem to do nothing but make new enemies. When we aren't powerful as we used to be. I'm worried about the stance you will all take against us. I'm sure Japan would love to see us fall into the ground, as would China, and most of Europe, and most of the world actually. It's sad that we've helped to breed this kind of racism. Even if it is unfair, I can't argue against it having grounds.
So anyway, I apologize for the many sins of my country, but no one country is perfect. Canada, that means you too. I just hope you're not all too blinded by your hatred for my people to realize this.
I have to say, many of you
